Some people can develop diabetes but their blood sugar level may not be high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. This is a condition that if it is not caught it could turn into type 2 diabetes.

Sometimes diabetes can be caused by an infection in the pancreas. In this case the pancreas doesn't make enough insulin, this makes sugar build up in the bloodstream. Then the sugar will not carry over to the cells.

Health professionals have stated that if your waist is bigger then thirty five inches, you have some risk of developing diabetes. Inactive people are at a high risk more so the in people that exercise two to three times a week. You do not need to go to the gym just a brisk walk for thirty minutes can help.

The risk of developing diabetes get higher as you get older. Studies have just been done that have proved that eighty percent of people get diabetes are forty five or older.

Another factor for diabetes is your family history has a lot to do with if you are going to get it or not. If your parents have diabetes or any close relative you are at risk. It is unfortunate but you share the same genes but it can be reversed if you take some preventive measures.

Many reasons are behind developing diabetes. With so many people in the world being diagnosed with this disease that can be in fact prevented in many cases; People need to start doing something about it. In trying to prevent diabetes there are so many options that could be taken. It is a good thing to do some research about diabetes.
